A tomb built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) was accidentally discovered and a man's bodyunearthed in a village in Guangfeng county, Jiangxi province.
A villager surnamed Lin said he accidentally dug out the tomb at night on Aug 16, when he wasworking to enlarge his back yard using an excavator.
"There were three coffins but only one of them contained a body," Lin said. "From a stone steleinside the tomb, I learned it was built during the Ming Dynasty."
Another villager said he saw a well-preserved male body, having hair and white skin, beingtaken out of the tomb.
Lin quickly came to fear that seeing the body would bring him bad luck and buried it again.
Officials with the local heritage administration visited the site after receiving a report on thediscovery and confirmed that the occupant of the tomb had died from disease at the age of 40.
The body had not decayed because the coffin had been tightly sealed.
